In the first Sunday of April of 1997 Pastor Roy Raquintan led the first Sunday Worship Service in a small boarding house at Paglinauan Compound in Barangay 2 of Legazpi City. The attendees were only three adults and three young boys. That was the rented boarding house of Mr. & Mrs. Leo Raquintan where Pastor Roy held the first service. This family of five were the main reason why he came back to the city where he was raised, educated, got saved and learned to served the Lord. Pastor Jed Raquintan instructed him to encouraged the unchurched couple to serve the Lord again. By June 1997 Pastor Roy relocated his family to Naga City where he worked from Monday to Saturday. Every Sunday they travel a hundred kilometers to Legazpi City for the worship service. From six attendees it grew to a dozen. Thus they were forced to look for a bigger place.
By the end of the year 1997 the Mission outreach was relocated to the United Institute (UI) Building in Daraga, Albay using a chemistry room as their place of worship. In UI the Lord added to them new attendees and the children ministry grew also. On February 2002 Pastor Conrad Castillo came to the Legazpi Mission to help in the work.
By August 2002 the Mission moved to Bagumbayan Elementary School using the Social Hall as the place of worship.
By May 2003 the Mission moved back to UI on the room at the second floor of the building. The place was too small for the number of attendees have grown to thirty. This reason compelled them to pray that the Lord would provide the Mission a building of their own.
In May 2006 the Mission started the Church Building construction with only sixty thousand pesos in hand. But the Lord provided along the way and by the first Sunday of July 2006 they held the worship service in their own church building in Barangay 15, Ilawod East of Legazpi City. After four months the super typhoon Reming devastated the city, the Mission benefited from the financial helps and other forms of assistance from caring Cornerstone brethren. The Mission extended help to members, to non-members, and to other affected churches in the nearby towns through those resources given by Cornerstone brethren.
The present attendance every Sunday is ranging from 30 - 50, including the kids, teens and adults . Every quarter of the year the Mission gives a Free Medical Check-up and Medicines to the needy and it is followed by an Evangelism Sunday with Pastor Jed as the usual speaker. Our vision is to reach the seventy barangays of the city. As of now we have only reached fifteen like : EM's Barrio, Sagpon, Ilawod East, Cabangan, PNR site, Pigcale, Baybay, San Roque, Victory, Dapdap, San Francisco, Buenavista, Bonga, Dita and Estanza. By God's grace it is their prayer that all these barangays would have a faithful christian family who will serve as God's lighthouses. Let us pray that before the Lord will come again we have done our mission in this world.
