LYE HISTORYCornerstone Baptist Church has an active youth ministry by the name CBC LEAGUE OF YOUNG EVANGELISTS (C.B.C L.Y.E.). It is a youth organization within the local church and under the authority of the Pastor. Therefore, it also abides by the same rules, regulations and principles of the local church. It affirms all the biblical doctrines and practices of CBC. Bro. Lester Raquintan, the youth leader appointed by the Pastor, conceptualized the formation of the league and drafted a constitution, based on the existing church constitution, to govern the body. It was then submitted to Ptr. Jed Raquintan and other youth workers, Ptr. Roland Niar and Sis. Bing Mustera, for approval. In November 19, 2006, the constitution was approved and the league was formally established with the four involved people as founders. On the 1st Saturday of December 2006, a meeting was called for the young people to introduce for the very first time, the concept of the league. The meeting was attended by 14 young people plus the appointed League Advisers: Ptr. Roland & Sis. Bing, and League Leader: Bro. Lest (Ptr. Jed is the League Director & is the overall in-charge of the ministry), who read and discussed the league constitution to the attendees. This formally opened the league for application, and all the applicants were excited. The day after (Sunday), the league started recruitment. By 11th of February 2007, the pioneer batch Kleema was declared members of the league, with 14 young people on board. By 17th of June 2007, two more young people were added through batch Sisidlan. As the year of 2009 enters, CBC LYE is on its way to its third year of existence and God has been faithful and gracious to the league. We have lost a few men since 2007, but God is able to replenish because early this quarter, four young people plan to join the league. LYE VISION
