APRIL – 1) CBMS mission exposure took place in Dananao, Tinglayan, Kalinga. Pastor Jed led the trip with CBMS students and other brethren as they visited the Dananao Tribe to learn more about tribal mission. They met with Ptr. Bernard Tollangao who planted the church in Dananao as well as other churches in different tribes of Kalinga. 2) Likewise, the CBC Annual church camp was held in this month. Our mother church and its mission churches gathered for the 4-day camp in Guinobatan, Albay hosted by the Legaspi mission church. 3) Raquel Anne Abeson, Sayuri Anne Butron, and Alma Jacosalem were baptized. MAY – 1) Pastor Jed travelled to Connecticut, USA, to attend his graduation for his Master’s of Divinity granted by Bible Baptist Theological Seminary. He was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor of the seminary. Churches of like faith invited and received him in their congregations as a preacher of the Word. 2) The wedding of Bro. Lester and Sis. Chirmen Raquintan was held on the fifth day of May. JUNE – 1) The second commencement exercises of our Bible School, Cornerstone Baptist Ministerial School, was the big event of the month. Five faithful students were granted their degrees of Bachelor of Ministry. 2) Jan Benson Lugtu, a product of the mission church in Mabalacat, Pampanga, became the newest Samuel. Aside from him there were also 7 new students who enrolled in CBMS. SEPTEMBER – 1) Ptr. Caswell Reeves of Heritage Baptist Church, Endicott, NY, USA was the guest preacher in our annual Bible Conference. He also ministered to the Master’s students and some CBMS students as he taught Baptist History 1, the 7th Module of the BBTS Program. Missiology was taught by Ptr. Jed Raquintan. Both of them are Adjunct Professors of BBTS. New seminarians joined the Master’s class like Ptr. Gerry Rulla of Iguig, Cagayan and Ptr. Felix Leron from Antipolo, Rizal. 2) Pastor Jed visited an ASEAN country and taught in a Bible School. OCTOBER – 1) Two ladies from our church, Sisters Linda Veracruz and Wendy Quising, made a mission trip to an ASEAN country to explore the possibility of mission work as tentmaking missionaries. May CBC fulfill its goal to reach ASEAN nations for the cause of Christ. 2) The Bonaobra couple, Bobby and Sunshine, and Marivic Reburiano were baptized and added to the membership together with transferees Angela Jacosalem and Lani de Leon. NOVEMBER – This month we celebrated the Mission Conference as the two ladies of our church shared to the congregation their call to go to Asia as tentmaking missionaries. Our church also authorized Bro. Lester as the new missionary to Albay. He was assigned to pastor the churches in Legaspi City and Bacong, Ligao, Albay. He replaced Pastor Roy Raquintan who was reassigned to oversee the work in Tanauan, Batangas. We rejoice in the goodness of God in our mission endeavors. DECEMBER – The seminary’s Christmas fellowship served as a refreshing moment for the students after hard days of studies in the year 2011. Students gave double-honour to the Pastor in the form of a love-gift to recognize his labours. Our church also celebrated Christmas in fellowship with the brethren from Mabalacat, Pampanga on December 18. |
